How do I save my progress?
The game inludes a Cloud Save function which allows you to save your progress so you can restore it later if you get a new device or have to reinstall the game for whatever reason.
Moreover, if you normally use more than one device (say a phone and a tablet), they will all be in sync, so you can continue playing where you left off.
All the information is saved in your account using Game Center (on iOS) or Play Games (on Android).
Once Cloud Save is enabled, you won't have to do anything: the game will automatically save, sync and restore as you play and when you start using another device. You can tap the settings icon at the bottom of the home screen to see the status of Cloud Save.
iOS
If have Game Center enabled, the game will configure Cloud Save automatically when you start the game. Otherwise, you will be prompted with the Game Center screen when the app launches so you can connect with your account.
If you experience problems, please check the following:
- On your device, go to Settings Game Center and make sure you are connected with your Apple ID. Sometimes it's helpful to sign out and in again.
- Go to your Apple ID's configuration under Settings and make sure that iCloud is enabled. Inside iCloud, both iCloud Drive and Wordpieces must be enabled.
Android
When you start the game for the first time you will be asked to connect with your Play Games account.
In order for Cloud Save to work you will need to select your preferred account and sometimes grant some permissions. These permissions are not related to your own files or storage (the game won't access any of your files), they are just required to store your progress in your cloud account.
You can connect, disconnect and change your settings at any time from your device's Google Play Games app. If you use different accounts each might hold different data, so make sure that you are using the right account.
